The gorgeous Nadine Jolie took my dream trip and did a champagne tasting with Veueve Clicquot in Reims, France. She described at “the Disneyland of champagne”. Clearly this needs to be my next trip. Until then I will just have to practice on my own. I’m getting pretty good you know.

Mrs O flew across the pond to check out Newport, Rhode Island. Having only been there once, with children and dog in tow, she had a far better time.
Ana and my other fab friend, Lauren DiMarco of LolaTravels did a whirlwind tour of the former stomping grounds of the truly rich and famous. Also, if you’re not following Lola, you are missing out. She is what I would be if I were traveling sans brood with a pink feather boa. The Vanderbilt Grace in Newport has been on my list of “glamorous hotels I need to sleep in” for some time. They gave the hotel, and the champagne, a fab review.

No Newport trip would be complete without a mansion tour, some scenes from the new Great Gatsby movie were filmed here. Also, did you know the International Tennis Hall of Fame is in Newport? There’s more to this seaside town than I thought.

Katie Goldstein headed north to Canada to check out Cape Breton. This elusive island was named Top 20 Places to See in 2013 by National Geographic and Third Best Island in the World by Travel and Leisure. Seriously, I have never heard of this place, neither had Katie, yet it ranks just below Bali and Santorini for best islands in the world?
Who knew? Um, I guess the Canadians…
